Part 1 — Mission Control PC

  1. Open Mission Control and check the configured save location. If it is not Documents/BlueRoom, record the actual path — you’ll need it for steps below.
  2. Photograph every settings page (for reference/rollback).
  3. Back up the current install: copy the existing Mission Control folder and rename the copy with today’s date appended (e.g. MissionControl_2026-07-07).
  4. Extract the new Mission Control build into the existing install location (overwriting the old files).
  5. Go to the save location folder identified in step 1 and delete profiles.json — this clears the old patient profiles.
  6. Start Mission Control. It will regenerate a fresh profiles.json with the new default profiles.
  7. Compare all new settings pages against your step 2 photos, including secondary player slots (Player 3, Player 4, etc.), and re-apply any custom configuration that didn’t carry over.

Part 2 — Headset PCs

  1. Enable Wi-Fi and tether the PC if it isn’t already connected.
  2. Update nVidia drivers: open the nVidia app (system tray, bottom right) → check for driver updates → install.
  3. Update Varjo Base to v4.14.1 using the installer provided in the update folder (skip if already on this version).
  4. If prompted, update the Varjo headset firmware as well.
  5. Open Varjo Base and confirm OpenVR is still switched off.
  6. Close the BlueRoom Node Service (system tray, bottom right).
  7. Back up the current Node Service: duplicate the existing BlueRoom > Node Service folder and rename the copy with today’s date appended.
  8. Copy the new Node Service folder into place.
  9. Install the new Windows Desktop Runtime 8.0 from the update folder.
  10. Back up the current TCCC and Aeromedical installs: copy each folder and rename the copies with today’s date appended.
  11. Extract/copy the new TCCC and Aeromedical folders into their existing locations (overwriting the old files).
  12. Run BlueRoomTCCC manually once first — this prevents Windows from blocking it on first launch.
  13. Disable Wi-Fi if you enabled it in step 1 (leaving it on will change the PC’s IP address).
  14. Reboot the PC before testing.
